Ash Hardwood Flooring

Ash hardwood flooring usually range in color from blonde to brown, and the medium tones can sometimes change to tan colors. They can vary in color depending on the part of the plank; while the outer portion tends to be lighter in color, the heartwood is darker and has a more reddish tone. Usually, the grain of the wood is straight and have a coarse texture. They are shock resistant and very durable and strong, which is great for homes with heavy traffic. Even though ash is usually used to manufacture sporting goods, they are excellent for the home as well. They can be installed by gluing them down or nailing them down, and are very easy to install. Ash hardwood floors are available in lengths from 6-14 feet in length. They usually range from $7 to $11 per square foot, and are a bit more expensive than other hardwood floors.
