Bamboo flooring is an excellent alternative to installing hardwood floors in your home. Most bamboo flooring is produced in Hunan, China, so bamboo flooring brings a sort of exotic feel to your home. They are not as commonly used as hardwood flooring here in North America, and are much more unique. Contrary to common belief, bamboo is not wood at all, but a type of grass. Bamboo flooring is very beautiful, and also very durable as well, for it is very hard and strong. They are so durable and strong, that they are even used as an integral part in the construction of buildings in cities in Asia. They are manufactured and available in both light colors and darker colors, which are achieved by pressure steaming. Bamboo floors are usually laminated using UF adhesive, which is urea-formaldehyde. Bamboo flooring can range in prices, from $4 to $8 per square foot, and are well worth the price you pay for them, for they are robust and resilient, as well as exquisite in appearance.
