Brazilian Cherry Hardwood Flooring

Brazilian cherry is also known as Jatoba, and is derived from the bark of a canopy tree. Because Brazilian cherry wood is so beautiful, they have become exploited, and are near extinction. The colors are very rich, ranging from deep reds to burgundies, and reddish browns. The reddish hue gives it a very deluxe, striking appeal, and brings an aura of foreign luxury into any room it is furnished in. Brazilian cherry hardwood flooring is a tropical wood which darkens in color with time, much like several other types of hardwoods. The Brazilian cherry is very durable and resistant to high traffic and is even used for furniture, cabinets, tool handles, and equipment such as athletic gear. It consists of an open grain, and has dark brown or black streaks amongst the reddish/brown flooring. It also has an interlocking grain and it is very lustrous and unique in color and texture, never boring or mediocre. Its lively, rich color is perfect for a room decorated antiquely, or with dark furniture and color schemes.
