Mahogany Hardwood Flooring
Mahogany is derived from Africa, and has a soft to medium hardness. Mahogany hardwood flooring is usually dark in color, most particularly, a reddish brown hue. Its graining is identified as striped figuring, and the texture is very uniform and fine. It stands as another type of wood that represents strength, and is known for its durability and resilience. It is a very popular form of wood for furnishings such as chairs and tables, and has such a beautiful rich color, that it brings an image of luxury and exoticness to the mind. There are many different types of mahogany, including red mahogany, Santos mahogany, and Hondural mahogany. Although regular mahogany is not typically used for hardwood flooring, santos mahogany is a great choice for hardwood floors, for it is much more durable and strong. It also has a interlocked and rippled grain, which gives it a very unique and beautiful appearance.
