Rosewood Hardwood Flooring

Rosewood hardwood flooring is a great choice for those who prefer darker wood rather than the light, yellowish hues. Rosewood is usually 9/16 of an inch thick, with a face width of 4 1/2 inches, and a length of 12-39 inches. Usually, rosewood is very dark brown in color, with streaks of black. It is very velvety brown, and rich in color and shine. Unlike other hardwood floors, rosewood lightens with time, rather than darkens. It can become a golden or tan brown. Rosewood is very dense and hard in surface, and has a great dimensional stability, very similar to that of the red oak’s. Installation of rosewood hardwood flooring can be done by either nailing or stapling the floor to plywood, or gluing the hardwood to concrete, or even by the floating procedure where a protective sheet is spread underneath the hardwood. It is commonly used for flooring, fine furniture, cabinetry, and decorative veneers.
